Ezekiel Elliott Reveals Cooper Rush’s Two-Word Nickname

Following the Cowboys’ Monday Night Football victory over the Giants, 23-16, Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott tweeted a short and straightforward message of support for quarterback Cooper Rush.

Elliott shared the nickname he uses for Rush in a post about his quarterback: “Cooper Clutch.”

On Monday night, Rush did come through in a big way, helping Dallas to a winning record (2-1) and handing his temporarily former team, the Giants, its first season loss.

Late in the third quarter, Elliott’s lone touchdown in the contest helped the Cowboys tie the Giants at 13. Late in the third quarter, Rush then directed the Cowboys on their second straight touchdown drive, giving them the lead.

As the Cowboys’ starter, Rush has now won three straight games, with two of those victories occurring this year. He also led Dallas to a victory over Minnesota in Week 8 of the previous season. Dak Prescott, who is battling with a thumb injury sustained in Week 1, is presently playing in Rush’s place.

Rush completed 12 of 13 throws for 129 yards over those two drives. The quarterback completed 21 of his 31 passes for 215 yards towards the end of the game.
