🚨The injury report for week 3, which brings a new twist to the situation: Michael Gallup, Dalton Schultz

On Monday night against the rival New York Giants, the Dallas Cowboys will be aiming to win in prime time, but sadly, some anticipated injured reinforcements may not be able to join the club quite yet. According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Michael Gallup’s 2022 season debut will have to wait a little longer than the Cowboys had hoped for him to return for the first time this year. Pelissero also stated that although there is still a chance, tight end Dalton Schultz might play in Monday Night Football.

For the Cowboys, those are some serious injury setbacks. The two receiving threats’ availability appeared more than likely before to Monday night’s matchup with the Giants. CeeDee Lamb will have his work cut out for him as the Giants defense will single him out as a focal point. Unfortunately, Cooper Rush will have to manage without Gallup for another week.

Schultz, on the other hand, still has a shot to play, but it will probably come down to the actual game. He hasn’t missed a game so far this season, but Monday’s game might be his first.

Both guys have knee injuries, but Gallup’s is clearly more serious. The wide receiver had offseason surgery to repair an ACL tear that occurred during the final week of the regular season. He didn’t begin the season on IR, which means he will be qualified to make a comeback sometime during the first four weeks of the campaign. Michael Gallup and Dalton Schultz don’t appear likely to play in Week 3 despite hopes that they would, which would be a significant setback for the Cowboys.
